Photobook Week 2018
La Fábrica presents the 4th edition of the PHotoBook Week, a programme of activities dedicated to the photography books. For one week, from 5 to 9 June, national and international professionals in the sector will present their book projects, attend book signings, and participate in panel discussions to share the latest ideas and tendencies.
The PHotoBook Week also offers each year a special selection of photobooks, featuring the finalists of the PHotoESPAÑA Best Book of the Year Award as well as national publications (RM, La Fábrica, Ediciones Anómalas, Phree, Dalpine, Phaidon, etc.), and international editions (Mack, RVB Books, Xavier Barral, Pierre Von Kleist, Steidl, Aperture, Thames & Hudson, Hatje Cantz, Damiani, Dewi Lewis, Ketller, XYZ books, Kehrer, Acte Sud, Cafe Royal Books, etc.)
All of the events and discussions will take place at the bookstore of La Fábrica, C/ Alameda, 9, Madrid, at the time and date specified in the programme.

HAVANA CLUB 7. OPEN PHOTOGRAPHY
Journey, Landscape, and City
The writer Antonio Muñoz Molina and the photographers Manolo Espaliú and Pablo Lerma will converse about traveling, the landscape and the city in a panel discussion coordinated by the writer Patricia Almarcegui. During this meeting, they will also present their most recent books and explore their understanding of journey in actuality. We will be waiting for you with a glass of Havana Club 7!

Desde la isla cuántica
Eugeni Gay Marín and Montse Puig
Desde la isla cuántica, the winning project of the New Talent Fnac Photography Award 2014, will be presented by Montse Puig, editor of Ediciones Anòmalas, and the author of the book Eugeni Gay Marín, co-founder of the school El Observatorio. Desde la isla cuántica is a personal photographic account of the Isla del Sol that is found along the shore of Lake Titicaca.

Publishing laboratory Pequeño pato salvaje
Amelia Santana, Marcela Rodríguez, and Silvia Romero
Directly from Lima, Amelia Santana, Marcela Rodríguez, and Silvia Romero will present their publishing laboratory Pequeño Pato Salvaje that aims to arouse sensibility, dialogue, reflection, and empathy among people.
On this occasion, they will present their two most recent publications: Coto de Caza by Juan Yactayo Sono, and Vida de Plutón by Luz A. Santana.

Arunà Canevascini and Gonzalo Golpe
Winner of the Book Dummy Award
Villa Argentina —the winning project of the Book Dummy Award organised by La Fábrica and Photo London in 2017— is a precious photobook in which the Swiss photographer of Irani decent, Arunà Canevascini, explores the relationship between her mother and her family history through evocative photographs in color and compositions made with objects created by the artist for the camera. The book will be presented by the artist Arunà Canevascini, accompanied by the independent graphic editor Gonzalo Golpe.
THURSDAY 7 JUNE 19H
The multidisciplinary Swiss artist Augustin Rebetez is one of the artists participating in the collective exhibition Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop in PHotoESPAÑA at the CentroCentro. In this session, Augustin Rebetez will present one of his most recent publication Anthill (meteorites), a book that takes us to a world where reality and fiction intertwine in a permanent theatre.

Havana Club 7. Open Photography presents Federico Clavarinowith his latest photobook 'La Vertigine'. The internal dynamic of ‘La Vertigine’ is in effect constituted by a series of pauses charged with tensions projected by objects outside the frames, continuously precipitating the gaze towards whites of the pages.–François Couturier.

DOCfield Dummy Award
Juan Valbuena andVíctor Casas Víctor Casas, a photographer from Madrid, accompanied by Juan Valbuena, the editor of Phree, will present MAD.RUS.22/08, the winning project of the 4th edition DOCfield Photobook Dummy Award Fundació Banc Sabadell for Photobooks.
In this session, they will show the maquette and the production process involved in producing MAD.RUS.22/08, as well as share the experience of participating in the DOCfield Dummy Award.

Dansu, Dansu, Dansu
Dansu, Dansu, Dansu, a book jockeysession presented by Juan Cires featuring a selection of photobooks of Japanese origen that seem to dance with each other.
A book jockey is like a DJ, only with photobooks.Using a camera and projector, the session presents and mixes photobooks to create a narrative, inviting the public to view and enjoy them.
