Players by SAMSUNG
Players by SAMSUNG is a game based on the Carte Blanche programme that will take place from 4 to 8 June 2018, where entertainment and artistic concepts come together.

In addition, Cristina will introduce a challenge: some of the photographs will have to reveal low-light environments.
All the photographs will be created with the new Samsung Galaxy S9, taking advantage of its camera that offers Dual Aperture and manual mode. This game in real time between Cristina de Middel and the invited photographers can be followed live every day on social media. The public, furthermore, will be asked to contribute with their own images. The result will be displayed as an audiovisual exhibition at Tabacalera and the Teatro Fernán Gómez. Action open to the public
The public is invited to participate with their own images and share their views about the diverse themes proposed for the game Players by Samsung.
Dynamic: Participants will contribute to the topics «My Other Me» and «Freezing Time» by publishing images via Instagram Stories that relate to the specific theme of the day proposed by Cristina de Middel. All images should mention of PHE and Samsung accounts and include the official hashtags of the action: #PlayerS9 and #PHE18.
Raffle: At the end of the game there will be a raffle and one participant from the public will be presented with a Galaxy S9.
04.06 - 08.06.18
PHotoESPAÑA, Tabacalera-Promoción del Arte, and SAMSUNG present an action directed by Cristina de Middel and Jason Fulford that aims to generate a space for collective reflection and actions about the world of mobile photography and the curating of exhibitions. The laboratory will study works that have been conceived by invited photographers within the discourse of the game as outlined by the carte blanche programme, and taken with a Samsung Galaxy S9.
The museographic process of the curators´ work will be presented, offering a reflection about the didactic and communicative aspects of the exhibitions.
Conceptually, the evolution of the workshop intends to analyse the artistic possibilities of the more utilitarian facet of photography, elevating it to the category of creation above document.
At the end of the experience, the results will be shown to the public through two exhibitions at Tabacalera-Promoción del Arte and at the Teatro Fernán Gómez that aim to materialise the flow of collective thought to share the evolution of the laboratory, thus converting the result into an exhibition about the curatorial process and its discourse.
