MAKING. Forum PHotoESPAÑA – Comunidad de MadridThe Community of Madrid and PHotoESPAÑA organize for the fourth consecutive year MAKING, a call for entries open to artists to submit their photography work and be one of the four projects selected to exhibit at the Sala El Águila during the XXII edition of the festival.
MAKING is a part of program FORUM PHotoESPAÑA - Comunidad de Madrid that offers a heterogeneous and public meeting place for MAKING, SPEAKING, LISTENING and BEING with photography. It aims to serve as a platform that gives visibility and promotion to artist projects and emerging collectives.
The call for entries is designed for photographers or collectives with a photography exhibition proposal suitable for Sala El Águila and the premise of the project. From among all the works received, a jury comprised of two representatives from the Community of Madrid, two representatives from PHotoESPAÑA and the photographer Andrea Santolaya will select four proposals to be developed into exhibitions.
This call for entries is coordinated by Ana Berruguete, the head of exhibitions for La Fábrica who will act as curator and aid in the museography.
The projects presented to the call for entries should meet the following requirements:
The production of artworks will be on photographic paper directly on the wall to favor transportable installations that make it possible to carryout the exhibition program in four consecutive weeks.
Each artist may contribute already produced materials to be featured in their exhibition. In this case, transportation expenses must be absorbed by the artist.
The characteristics, selection of works, quantity, and format of the final proposal will be determined by the artist and the curator from the festival team.
The Sala El Águila has a gallery space with 49 linear meters. (Download floor plan with measurements here).
Each artist or collective selected is offered a renumeration of 400 euros (taxes not included).
The artist should be present at the installation and deinstallation of their exhibition. There will be a professional team on site to carry out the installation and lighting.
MAKING will take place between June 10 to July 7, 2019. The duration of each of the four exhibitions in the program is one week.
Artists should fill out the Registration form providing all of the requested information and a digital dossier in .pdf format with a detailed description of the project including: introduction text, selection of photographs, exhibition distribution proposal, as well as a brief biography of the artist.
