After the success of the # PHEdesdemibalcón call, which took place during confinement in Spain, and the subsequent exhibitions that have been held as the opening for the XXIII edition of the Festival in 50 Spanish cities. Now, Washington DC joins this project with a unique outdoor exhibition that includes a sample of some of the most representative images of the call.
This collaboration between PHotoESPAÑA and Spain arts & culture arises in order to spread Spanish culture in the United States. Thus, the Cultural Center of the Spanish Embassy in Washington DC hosts in the building of the former residence of the ambassadors of Spain a selection of 28 images, chosen from all those registered in the call, in which Spanish citizens are shown in day-to-day situations in the face of difficult circumstances. Images that could be seen from their windows and balconies and that will remain in our memory through the photographs taken.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Spanish Ambassador to the US Santiago Cabanas and the new Cultural Counselor at the Spanish Embassy in Washington, DC Miguel Albero. The sample can be seen from today September 22 to December 22, 2020.
