This open-air screening session, which is part of the public activities of PHotoESPAÑA 2020, completes the exhibition of the same title that can be visited in the Fernán Gómez exhibition hall. Centro Cultural de la Villa, within the Official Section of the XXIII edition of the Festival.

Riera proposes an intervention in the Plaza de Colón, where the space and the images that he will project onto the surface of the monumental sculptural ensemble of Vaquero Turcios, will constitute the work.

Ripple in shadow It is also the title of the installation in the interior by Fernán Gómez, which completes a visual work in which the images take place in an inaccessible space, as fragile and fluid elements, formed by the surfaces that host them. This alludes to the need to walk in the opposite direction to the dynamics of conquest, withdrawing from the exploitation of the great natural spaces. Absence is understood here as a poetic way of living, the only one that allows consciousness to participate in the lightness of space.

Javier Riera's work is based on light projections in a geometric shape, made directly on nature and the landscape. It focuses on an experience of real intervention on space and time, thus approaching Land Art. Ripple in shadow focuses on the metaphorical power of natural spaces inaccessible to humans and the imaginary associations with which the deep psyche can connect with them.

The exhibition can be visited from October 1 to 25.
