Call Casa Arabe_NUR_800x300 ppi

PHotoESPAÑA and Casa Árabe launch the NUR call | نور

Arab house and PHotoESPAÑA have decided to further promote the collaboration that began several years ago and which has produced such good results in various photography exhibitions organized at the Casa Árabe headquarters in Madrid over the last few years.

With this objective, Casa Árabe and PHotoESPAÑA jointly present NUR | نور (Luz), an open call for the selection of a photographic exhibition proposal that will be presented at the Casa Árabe headquarters within the framework of the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts PHotoESPAÑA, within its official program, in its XXIV edition that will be developed in 2021.

The objective of this open call is to give visibility and diffusion to a project that offers a look at one or various aspects of Arab societies, from a contemporary curatorial perspective. The aim of this call is to reward the effort of innovation, while transmitting current content that has to do with the realities of the contemporary Arab world. These contents are proposed in a deliberately open and free-themed way, so that initiatives of a very diverse nature can be accommodated, without conditioning the contents, approaches or work techniques, being able to present projects dedicated to a single artist or projects of a character collective.

The call is addressed to commissioners or institutions. The selected project will be shown to the public through an exhibition that will take place at the Madrid headquarters of Casa Árabe (c / Alcalá, 62) in June 2021, within the framework of the XXIV edition of PHotoESPAÑA.

The application must submit the application form, which can be found in the file of the bases, correctly completed and presented in PDF files.

The files for the application must be sent in a single compressed ZIP folder, which should not weigh more than 15Mb, to the email address, with the subject "NUR Casa Arabe - PHE 2021".

* EXTENDED DEADLINE: The deadline for the presentation of projects is open until March 14, 2021.
