Master class by Magdalena Correa. "Territories and stocks"

El PHotoESPAÑA Master in Photography , in collaboration with the Alcobendas City Council, organizes the master class open to the public, given by the photographer Magdalena Correa, at the Alcobendas Art Center, on Thursday, April 8, at 18:00 p.m.


Magdalena Correa stops in those isolated and unknown geographical and human spaces, where a form of human life develops "in precarious", which also has to withstand the harsh conditions imposed by a nature of great power. He comes into contact with the environment and its inhabitants and elaborates a field work that through photography and video builds a personal perspective, with which it invites us to reflect on human life that happens in these hard-to-reach territories doomed to oblivion. .



Magdalena Correa Larraínes Graduated in Fine Arts with a mention in engraving from the Universidad Católica de Chile. PhD in photography and video from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and accredited by ANECA. Master in Photography Direction at ECAM, Madrid Film School. He has been a member of the Research Line "Applications to Audiovisual and Multimedia Systems" of the Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona and a teacher in the Fine Arts Degree at the Antonio de Nebrija University.


He has specialized in photographic and video research projects on isolated and extreme territories where man lives. Lines of investigation: “Austral” (2006) on the XI Region of Aysén in southern Chile, “La Disappearance” (2008) on the Gobi deserts in China and Mongolia and the Atacama deserts in northern Chile, “Níveo” (2011) on the Chilean town “Villa Las Estrellas” located in Antarctica, “La Rinconada” (2013) on the highest gold mine in the world located at 5.600 meters high in the Ananea District, Peru, “Luxury has a new Address ”(2014) on the wealth and ostentation of Kuwaiti society,“ Wayúu ”(2015) on the Wayúu ethnic group located in the Alta Guajira desert, Colombia,“ Suiti ”(2018) on the Suiti culture (intangible heritage of the Unesco endangered) located in Alsunga, Latvia.
