Javier Riera’s work has based on geometric light forms projected directly on nature and the landscape. His works focus on real intervention experiences on the space and time of the landscape, thereby being close cousins of Land art.
As part of PHotoESPAÑA, he is proposing an installation held in the interior of Fernán Gómez where the images elapses in an inaccesible space, like fragile and fluid elements, formed by the surfaces that embrace them. In this way the artist alludes to the need to go against the flow of conquest dynamics, retreating from the exploitation of great nature areas. Absence here is understood as a poetic way of dwelling, the only one that allows consciousness to participate in the lightness of space.
