Yet another year, PHotoESPAÑA wants to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts made by the publishing industry to disseminate photography via photography books. Some time ago, this type of publication became collectors’ works for lovers of the medium, as well as vehicles of dissemination and the ideal expression for their authors, who over the years have achieved a high degree of professionalisation.
With the goal of supporting this format, PHotoESPAÑA has been granting the award for the Best Photography Book of the Year since 1998. Via an expert committee comprised of industry professionals, the best works in three different categories are chosen: Best National Photography Book, Best International Photography Book and Best Self-published Photography Book. Plus, it also recognises the efforts of a specific publisher through the Outstanding Publishing House of the Year award.
