As part of the program Sculpting Reality, the guest curators of PHotoESPAÑA 2022, Vicente Todolí and Sandra Guimaraes, propose this cycle of meetings, which will provide an exceptional opportunity to delve into documentary-style photography –understood as document and aesthetic—.
Through reflection and debate, the focus will be on the perspective of great representative artists of this genre. It will be attended by the international artists Ahlam Shibli (1970, Palestine) and Susan Meiselas (1948, Baltimore, USA), as well as the Spanish photography duo Bleda y Rosa – made up of María Bleda (1968, Castellón) and José María Rosa (1970, Albacete), who received the National Photography Award in 2008.
The invited artists work the image from the need to question and think about the reality that surrounds us. They are also part of the exhibitions of the program Sculpting Reality and the Per Amor a l'Art Collection.
The cycle of conversations will be held in the Espacio Fundación Telefónica auditorium in Madrid and will be broadcast online, openly and free of charge, through the YouTube channels of Espacio Fundación Telefónica and PHotoESPAÑA.
