A Stationary Time
Through A Stationary Time, the photographer Eduardo Nave shows us how everything suddenly ground to a halt one day. People disappeared from the communal areas, and we didn’t know when they would be back. The state of alarm brought an entire society to a standstill, erasing the boundary of waiting, and time seemed to cease existing. A thousand questions sprang to mind: How should we prepare for the near future? How will we act the day after? Where will the lives we left in March be? Nave confesses that he would have liked not to be here and to be able to speak to the world of yesterday from the future. He is aware that this reality—caused by the global pandemic with which we are grappling—will end, but afterwards none of us will be the same.
