ENAIRE Foundation and PHotoESPAÑA present Time at a Standstill. Photographic Report of a Confinement.
Time at a Standstill compiled the works of 42 photographers who explore the experience of confinement in Spain —due to the global crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic— through different vantage points and narrative voices. The project is both a report and a testimonial, multifaceted and transversal, tackled from numerous different viewpoints which generate a range of themes like waiting, emergency, emptiness, illness, death, family, solidarity, urgency and hope. It is a tribute to the stories of lives and suspended time, in addition to being a reflection of a mood and mental state which fluctuate between self-oblivion and self-awareness, the time inhabiting the pictures that remain carved in our memories.
The investigation and location of the authors' works has been carried out by Eduardo Nave.
Fundación ENAIRE and PHotoESPAÑA are responsible for the final selection.
The public will be able to vote until September 25 for the best work in each author's file, leaving their name and email. Each person can vote only once. The author of the most voted project will receive a prize of 3,000 euros.
Time at a Standstill it's a virtual exhibition and also a book that will be published in September 2020 and that has the reflections of writers and journalists such as Elvira Lindo, Carlos del Amor or Mireia A. Puigventós.
