Today we live surrounded by digital imagery, forgetting that images are light. A photograph exists because light reflected on a subject, which in turn was recorded in a camera, whether it be digital or analog. We have become detached from the alchemy nowadays, believing that taking an image is as simple as the blink of an eye.
This workshop lead by Lucía Peluffo (Buenos Aires 1989) offers children an opportunity to explore an original photographic process, in this case, rayographs. This simple process provides quick visual results. The format offers a means of seeing how light prints directly on paper, and a chance to reflect on the photographic process that we miss out on and try to appreciate here.
